Hi.....
1st of all, go to the ADC web site and read every thing there ok. Do your research as much as you can. you can call them , you can send them e-mail to ask what ever you want.
2nd thing is ...ofcourse you have to take your start for ADC by prepering for OET.

Hi chu!
For OET...you will apply and pay the fee , then they will give you a code. By using that code you will download all the material.
it will take you a week or 2 to prepare the 'actual' study meterial for OET but generally your english should be good, specially the spoken. I
f you feel that you need to improve your english , you can start reading english news paper. watch english news on CNN and BBC and practice by speaking english with some one.
OET is a little bit different than IELTS as OET has got professional touch.

Hi! After reading this thread, i got interested in the 1000 or more mcq everyone is talking about for the pre-lim. Please mail them to me if possible.

I still got at least 8 months to prepare for the exam. So started reading and reviewing some literature from uni, already. But the example questions, would be a great help probably. At least gives me a better idea what to expect.

As one of the means to practice my english, in dental areas, i used the free internet courses provided by dentaltown.com. just register and take a free online ce.

I would suggest you that when ever you have some spare time, go through the old posts and you will definetly find the answers of many of your questions.
The question and answer which you have asked above, you will fine in post no. 952 and 955. Please check them on page no.20.

can anyone give me an idea of the questions that are asked in the clinical exam. I know they emphasize on the practical aspect, but can anyone give me an idea of questions asked in subjects like oral surgery, medicine , pathology, infection control
and prostho and perio
and resto. I know it may be a long answer but can I get an idea.

Q85: The pulp horn most likely to be expossed in the preparation of the large cavity in a permanent molar tooth is:

A Mesiolingual in upper first molars
B Mesiobuccal in upper first molars
C Distobuccal in lower first molars
D Mesiolingual in lower first molars
E Mesiobuccal in lower first molars

It would be great if anyone please give me the correct answers of above

The amonut of fee which i submitted for my September 2007 preliminary (step-1) was 930/- Australian dollars. For the clinical (step-2), the fee is 5500/- Aus. dollars.

HI Doc,

i think that the people here are doing a great job..but the emphasis is more preclinical..i request the people who are aiming for clinicals and the one's who have already had the experience to pls put done some valuable tips and information and lets take it a step ahead👍

Hi
Don't get tensed and confused. All you have to do is to concentrate on your study. If you will do a good preperation , you be be able to attempt any kind of MCQs and SQA.
Actually when you will do your admission for the preliminary , ADC will send you some sample papers and you can read them and have an idea abot the format of the papers.

Dear all :

i read some posts talking about the 1000 mcq bank and odell and other reference.

i want to clarify that : sure you have to study much more than that...you have to spend sleepless nihts reading a lot of books...u have and u have.....

but.....from our experience....and supposing that we all are dentist and we know basics..and we try to learn more...this was not said...

but believe me.....1000 mcq and odell are the keys...

and anyway u have to go back to ur books to know the right answers of mcqs.

sooooo...itis just my advice...( do not skip the 1000 mcq and odell )

hi

the mini plates are not removed i.e they are kept indefinitely..unless in case of:
non union
infection- the major cause of retreatment and the main reason for this is not adequate asepsis
malunion -if the treatment result has caused gross disfigurement, or malfunction, however in certain cases if the above reasons are not compromised it can be kept as such: if the ptient is aged, is treated completely but a slight disfigurement can be ignored as it weighs above the indications of retreatment.other reasons can be diabetic patient, medically compromised conditions.

ADC will not send you any sample paper . I did not get any sorry to say that .

you don't get them immediatly after admission. they send the sample papers when they will inform you about the exam schedule and dates. I have got them myself.there is one ADC and they have got one system and they follow it.
