Hi everyone,
I just got my OET results: I've cleared all but the speaking sub-test which I expected! 🙁
I Got confused while taking the speaking part. The role plays were not hard. Have to review the role plays I guess!
The results are almost the same as I expected.

Hi DoctorMelbourne, you can find the latest and all kind of short note and study materials from Dental supply. I gave all my material to a friend he is giving his exam this year. Many of my friends got materials from This Company and they wise good. The email is [email protected]. I got most of my materials from then it was really good and helped me a lot in my success. All the best

Hi Nasa!
Thanks alot for the information. did you get your material from them the denatl supply for the preliminary or clincial? as I am preparing for the clinical.what kind of short notes did you get from them and whats the cost?
Cheers :hardy:

You know what, i realy doupt my C in the writting test, it's very astonishing to me cause i studied well how it should be written and i know that my english is good ( i got an A in the speaking test by the way ) so my feelings now are not sadness or being angry of myself i didnt study well, not atall!!! i feel astonished and very curious to know why i got these results....
i'll wait for the official letter of the results, may be ( that's a far hope ) they've mistaken putting it online.
thanks....

I also have the same problem , passed everything except speaking!
My examiner was not patient at all, she didnot let me complete my sentences and interupted me for several times. so I could not concentrate . now Im wondering whether in the exam we have enough time to speak ,for example in IELts they let us speak as much as we want (for example in my ielts exam). or they can interupt us even when we wouldnt say the main part?

thank u so much in advance

Hi
I have passed my OET last year. actually they always interept you , they want to check how you compose meaningful sentences quickly. they know what you wanna say. so you have to be very vagillant, accurate and quick. if he/she interpts you and ask something else, you should keep pace with the examiner. and don't concentrate much that your history should be accurate as the examiner is not a dentist, they just want to check your accent, grammer. vocabulary and fluency. so next time practice alot in the mirror or with some one else. + one other very useful tip is that write some common situation role plays and practice them alot, like one for every subject (surgery, peads, prosthodontics etc). e.g an old lady came to you having loose denture , a parent accompanying a child having front teeth tauma in school etc.
one other very important thing is you should be confident like when my examiner came to the waiting room to call me for the test, she said that I was looking very confident.
don't worry just get perfectly prepared for the next time.
best of luck
Cheers :hardy:

in oet exam u dont have to resit in the subtests that u have already passed . but u should know that these passed subtests are just valid for 2 years .

I had bad experience with OET as well. The test is not hard at all but it's difficult to understand how they mark it. I passed with A for the first time in writing, reading and speaking and I had to do 4 times listening to get a B. I couldn't believe!
The most important is not be scared and do it again, and again...and meanwhile keep studing dentistry, get ready for the ADA exam, that is really tough.
Good luck for all.
Keep studing, keep smiling :meanie:

Cheers

Hi
If you study carefully and clear your concepts, you wont have any problems in attempting the SQA.few tips are:
1) do that question first which you know very well.
2) carefully plan your time allocated to the paper.
3) don't over-write the unncessory stuff, stick to what they have asked for. your answer should be accurate and to the point no mater even if its not very long.
4) 'odell' will help you alot.

Thanks for leting me know about the dr. amol explanation of clincial exam but where exacatly has he explained it?
Cheers :hardy:

Following are the clinical materials they supplied
Perio Orientation
Oral surgery questionnaire
Oral med
Local adverse effects of amalgam restorations
Differential diagnosis of the cysts of the jaw
CD 1 – Endodontics
Case history taking basic concepts
AAP Parameters of care memorise
Periodontal Therapy
Epidemiology of Periodontal diseases
Diagnosis of Periodontal Diseases
Useful articles easy to read on perio\Annals of perio society one complete journal
Surgical Pictures
Periodontal anatomy
Oral Surgery
Latest oral medicine
Management of medically compromised patient
Principles of tooth preparations
Examination - treatment planning
Dental Records
Radiology
Reading list oral radiology
Infection Control
Osseo integration lecture
Periodontics 1 - Examination, Classification & Risk Factors
Medical History
6 – 8 preparation materials from different lectures and generals
Latest question papers

And some books like
Oxford handbook of clinical dentistry
Clinical Problem Solving in Dentistry
cowsons mcq book
bouchers mcq book
Restorative Dentistry
Sturdevant’s Art and Science of Operative Dentistry
The Handbook of paediatric dentistry
And so on
If you buy any latest book in the market you have to pay around $150 to $300 per book . They give me all these books for $25 each which I found very attractive and economical for me. All those notes come along with the package for clinical.

Hi Nasa!
1st of all I am very thankful to you for your effort which you put to give us all that valuable information.
2nd thing is, I did sent them an e-mail but they told me that all this material will in the form of soft copies(the cost will be 325/ dollars for the clincial books), which means I have to make print outs of all of them. right? did you get the print outs for yourself?

Hi doctermelbourne,
Your advices and responses are great to read and consider.🙂😍 If I have missed reading any of your older posts where you may have mentioned what all you've encountered in Sept 2007step1 exams...plz direct to me to that direction. May I request you to recall them all (with little explanation where you collided with difficult questions) and send it my email. We have some portion which require augmentation and confirmation. 🙄Really would venerate your treasure of knowledge. thanx

For others who are thinking of buying those material from dentsupply they r just big rip offs. I think we can manage without their supply. Has anyone tried doctorpulse online??? Anyone kind enough to leave affirmatory remark in favor of this course?👍
cheers
