SO I have been going back and forth deciding whether or not I should apply to more schools. I haven't applied to many schools due to financial reasons, and currently have an acceptance so far and another interview coming up next week. I applied late august/early Sept. Sadly, as I explored the area around the school I was accepted, the elementary schools in the area seem to be very run down and behind other states on education standards. I even talked to some of the residents in the area and they said the same thing and told me not to bring my kiddos to these schools. That of course worries me as I also have their future to worry about. I found a good school in a neighboring county (35 mins away) and I am sure we can make it work, but I am just looking for alternatives. I live in Florida and I wanted to remain in state near family, but since getting rejected from LECOM-B and that weird hold letter from NSU, I figured I should branch out my apps since it looks like my in state isn't happening (unless MD works out). Does anyone know any good "family friendly areas" that provide a good medical education for myself that I have a chance at, and a good primary education for my kids. I know it is a weird question, but I can't imagine making my kids sacrifice their education for mine and having options is never a bad thing IMO. Thanks!!

Stats 3.5/3.4~ GPA (huge upward trend, from 2.9 2nd year -> 4.0 all classes last 2+ years) and 507 MCAT
EC are meh but not terrible
150 shadow
250 clinical volunteer hours
various tutoring positions volunteer/pay
live in another country as tutor blah blah,
no research to speak of

I have applied:
ACOM
VCOM (All)
NSU
LECOM (both)
PCOM (both)
All FL MD

Don't know about the other DO schools, but RVU-CO is in Parker, Colorado. It's pretty much the suburbs of Denver. Pretty good primary schools, the area is safe, etc. RVU-CO also has 100% pass rates on the boards, 2nd highest board scores last year (2 points below 1st place). Great match list, all lectures are recorded. Only mandatory classes are labs. But it's getting pretty competitive, so if you want to apply, do it ASAP! It's not close to Florida, but it does seem to match everything else you are looking for in a school 🙂.

Should be be fine. When were you completed for MD? I think you are decent for FL MD schools.

I was decently late for MD because I didn't qualify for the FAP and had to scrounge. I was verified Sept 9th, and submitted most secondaries pretty soon after.

I'm not trying to start an argument, but where do you find the board scores for all of the DO schools in the country? I hear about people comparing board scores all of the time, but it is my understanding that it is up to the school to release the scores or not. Do you know if this is true or where I can find this list of rankings?
