So I took Calculus 1 my freshman year of undergrad and got a C-. Primarily due to not studying and never going to class.. too much partying. You know how it is 😀

Anyway, I'm two semester into my DIY postbacc, which is being done at a CC and I don't know if this class is close enough to my original class to be considered for a grade replacement. If you can't tell, I'm applying DO and trying to take advantage of grade replacement. The calculus class that I took when I got my bachelors was "Math 141 Calculus 1".

Math 210 - Analytic Geometry and Calculus 1. 5 credits
Official course description: Topics included are limits and continuity of functions of a single variable, derivatives and antiderivatives of algebraic functions and trigonometric functions, and applications.

What's offputting to me is that "analytic geometry" is the first part of the course name.

Analytic geometry is pretty normal in a calc I-IV course title. Do you remember looking at graphs and slopes as an introduction to derivatives? That's the geometry you're analyzing on the way to calc.

If there's another choice for a "calc I" course, let us know.

The progression at this school is pre-calc, survey of calculus, analytic geometry and calc 1, analytic geometry and calc 2. I guess the "analytic geometry" in every calc level up to calc 3 (maybe 4, I don't remember) should've tipped me off that it was normal. I do remember that, but it never occured to me that it was geometry.. Makes sense though.

I know this class is better than a "survey" class. Right?

Should be.
