Hi all,

Doctors undergoing rural GP training with ACRRM have to do a year of advanced specialist GP training. Do you guys know if this training has to be done in a rural area too?

No, for most of the procedural skills the training is done in regional centres. This incluses ED, O&G, anaesthetics, and surgery. Some advanced skills years that are NOT procedural are done rural (e.g. Aboriginal health, public health), while others that require a larger pt population and regional resources (e.g., paediatrics, internal medicine) are not.
