I'm trying to figure out if one is more competetive compared to the other. Obviously, some programs don't give you the choice, but for programs that have some cat and some advanced, how do they decide who gets cat? I'm part of couples match and don't want to split up for the year. Do they take those factors into cat spots?

Thanks for anyone's comments.

I don't know about other programs, but we just submit the same rank list for both.

Thanks!
Do you know about programs that have only advanced? How do they decide who gets the availble transition years? Is it based on rank alone?
