Hi All,

What's the sense on an early interview invitation - does that indicate that the school is more interested in you than a school that interviews you later in the season, or do they use pretty consistent criteria throughout the year, and it just means your application was complete sooner? Basically, I'm just trying to figure out whether the odds are as listed in the USNews site, or somewhat better for September interviewees.
Cheers,

katem

if the admissions is rolling for that school, then you're certainly at an advantage.

Welcome to SDN, katem! :) Congrats on your early interview invite. Early interviews can indicate both things. The process is so crap-shootish, however, because of the overabundance of highly qualified applicants, that trying to discern the reasons why adcoms do things is pretty much like trying to read tea leaves. An early interview is, however, more likely to result in an acceptance than a waitlist, so I would have to think that your odds are significantly better than those with late interviews who are mainly interviewing for the waitlist at schools with rolling admissions. Prepare well, and don't worry so much about the odds. Best of luck!! :D
