i know there's technically a difference between adversity vs challenge essays, but since many schools only ask about a challenge youve overcome, could i use an adversity-like essay for it?
My current draft for most of my challenge essays is facing discrimination in college for being gay, while being person of color and a religious minority, and going into how i overcame it and was able to incorporate/be involved in all my identities + help others w similar struggles. Since this isn't one singular challenging event but a more longitudinal struggle, i recognize its more of an 'adversity' response, but i feel like its a pretty important growth point for me and wondering if it'll still suit a challenge essay. Also is racism/homophobia okay to even mention?? idk if its too controversial
