Does anyone have advice about paying for a deposit? The schools I've interviewed at range from $1500 to $3000 (BU, sheesh) and have to be paid within 30 days of the offer of admission. I've been weighing out my options for a while but I was curious about what some of you are doing. For those of you that can't necessarily "afford" ~2,000 dollar deposits, what do you plan to do? Bank loans? Do schools have waivers for these?

I’d say start saving up now. I don’t think schools will waive it because it’s a deposit to make sure that you’re serious about taking the seat. They don’t want people saying they’ll take a seat with no skin in the game because they could just drop the seat and the school may have missed other great applicants that they wanted.

If you can’t afford the $2,000, I’d ask parents if they could loan you the money, credit card to gain a little extra time (like 30 days), or worst case, a personal loan from a bank.

Do most schools accept credit card for the enrollment deposit?
