Hi I know there have been plenty of same questions on this forum about chances..but I want to advice from current podiatrist student from there previous experiences with the admission process and their recommendation.
I am currently in chiropractor school and this is my 2nd trimester. It took me a while and I finally realize I dont like this field and there so much stuffs goes on at chiropractor school and also the field that I do not like. I could go on and on about it but i want to get my questions regarding podiatry school.
My first trimester in chiropractor school I failed 3 classes but it was due to absenses. There a rule in chiro school that if you miss more than 10 percents of the class you drop a letter grade and I made high C on those classes so thats was how I failed. But chiro school let you retake your classes that you failed and they replaced the grade as well..so my second time around I made B and didn't miss the 10% letter grade drop rule and made a B.
I was thinking about sending over my transcript from chiro school on my podiatry application. Is it a good idea to do so? I was hoping that I can show the admission that I am capable of handling graduate work. But the only reason why I don't want to send my chiro transcript over is bc of the F showing on it. What is the best advice yall thing I should do with my chiro transcript.
I'm also planning to take my MCAT as well
Another thing is I'm planning tois retake some basic prequeiste such as chem 1 and bio 1 and human anatomy 1 (since its been 6 years old) during summer 2 and fall semester. At the same time , I will also still be in chiro school doing part time. But I am planning to take classes that is science related in chiro school when I drop to part time next trimester. Basically, I'm planning to retake some prequesite that is old and still be in chiro school and take classes that can stregthen by application proces if i do send the transcipt over to podiatry school. the classes I'm planning to take next tri in chiro school is Gross anatomy 2 and lower extremeity and immunology.
Hope I am not confusing you guys but If i do that and also shadow a Podiatrist as well what are my chances.. I also have a degree in psychology and minor in global buiness and my gpa is decent but not that great. My overall gpa is lower than my science gpa. My prerequsite for podiatry program gpa is pretty good but by retaking some prequiste and making A it should bust it more and also bust my overall gpa.
What course of action you guys (that arleady in the program) thiink i should do or what i'm planning to do is pretty good to help my chances of getting in. Thanks for helping
