Advice for Re-applying

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I don't know who is supposed to upload your LOR's for you.
If you graduated from a US medical school, I'd call up your school's career advising office and ask them what to do...they should be trying to help you anyway, if they are cool. It makes the school look better if you can match well.

General surg (and sometimes other surgery or even urology spots) have appeared from time to time on FindAResident (service you can register for on NRMP web site I believe...). I thought the site was better than Openspots.com (i.e. more current/up to date) and I think if you are registered in ERAS the cost is only something like $50/year, or thereabouts. You can then log on there and check a couple times/week and see if any spots open up. I have seen surgery PGY2 and 3 spots occasionally on there, although family practice, medicine and psych predominate...

Hi,

I am currently a surgery-prelim and have tried to start reapplying for this year, I do need a few answers and also if anyone has advice for getting a spot let me know.

How do I get LORs submitted to ERAS? I registered(my medical school gave me a code), but who is it that uploads your LORs after you have graduated(is that my medical school too?

Where do I find open PGY-2 spots?

The same Dean's office that handled your paperwork last year does so this year.
