Advice needed : Changing from Policy & Management to Epi

Hi All,

I have chosen HPM as my major but I am getting interested in Epi as well. I have been thinking about changing my major but job prospects is a major consideration. Should I stick to HPM or do I have better chances with epi?

Please advise, I need to decide soon.

Wow, that's quite a switch, depending on where you are and how far into the degree. I started at my current school right after graduation, so I never really had a chance to use my MPH in HPM, but the impression I got while I was earning it was that your concentration will have less of a bearing on your job prospects than your experience. I've known HPM majors who have done well in management (shocker) and consulting, but whenever I looked for MPH internships or job opportunities, it seemed like all the best options were for the BMS or Epi majors. Even better if you can figure out SAS!

Then again, MPH in HPM is just fun to say...

I have some clinical experience and that is basically cause of my frustration. Having been on clinical side for a while, HPM seems like beating around the bushes while Epi as a science is enticing. Besides I have to worry about H1.
