Ok I couldn't find anything regarding neuro so here goes...

got step 1 in 10 days, I have gone through DIT, reviewed FA, but neuro is still something I just struggle with. What should I do? Should I go through HY Neuroanatomy in one day and see how that goes?

Also, any feedback regarding my plan for the remaining days would be great. I'm almost done with Goljan, maybe 4 chapters or so. So I was going to complete that this week, keep on doing blocks of 46 questions in UWorld (already completed), and then take an NBME on Saturday, and then split up FA in to fifths and start reviewing Sunday-Thursday. Take Friday to do some light review/Goljan blue notes and then rest up for the big big day... Sound good?

Had this same problem. Neuro is like anatomy to me, just a ton of information and it's difficult to sift through it and determine what's relevant/high yield. I ended up using FA as the main outline, then doin questions from qbank/UW. Anything I was shakey on or didn't get I used hy neuro or wiki to supplement. I also listened to the tron soundtrack about 10 times to get through neuroanatomy. That's my advice though...lots and lots of questions.

What is the tron soundtrack?

I really liked HY Neuro and went through it in 1 day (a long day) for my shelf on it this fall- I'm just using FA for it for step though.

Even the hardest of my Neuro questions were in High Yield. However, there are only a few of the hard questions (ie, brain stem cross sections.) So, you may have to weigh your options!

Thanks for the advice everybody. I think what I'll do is try to go through as much of it as I can today and stop however far I go and use FA for the rest. FA Neuro is so hard to just sit and read/study.

HY Neuro >>>> BRS Neuro. BRS is far, far too detailed and dense for the neuro that appears on the Step 1 in my opinion. It's best used with an actual neuroscience course (and even for that I didn't bother and stuck with HY)

I thought FA Neuro was fairly incomplete in my opinion. What irritated me the most is NO brainstem sections, and it was missing a few of the common "syndromes" (like Weber syndrome).

I took the test today - imo, it takes just as long to go through FA neuro as it does HY neuro and HY neuro is much much much better ( at least for my test).

Thanks Lewy22, HY Neuro actually isn't that bad, I've gone through like 2/3rds of it today... I definitely skimmed the parts I know really well, and focused on my weaknesses. HY Neuro >>>>>> FA Neuro by a long shot.

So far the HY Neuro is going well...should finish in a few and then I'll have time to do more questions.
