I'm a long timer lurker hoping to get some advice as a non-trad.

1) My university was on a quarter system. I have 8 quarter hours of english/writing, instead of the required 9. I have some humanities classes/AP eng credit but I should take 1 more english class to be safe right?

2) I noticed that some schools also require behavior science. If i put it as "in-progress", will I be able to specify which schools those "in-progress" will be for? For example, if school A doesn't require behavioral science, but school B does, can I specify that I will be taking it for school B only?

3) My school's intro bio classes doesn't have a lab with it, will upper div biochem lab count? The course names are 1) protein biochemistry lab and 2) recombinant dna lab. They are under CHEM department though.

Thank you guys for your time.

Depends on the particular schools you're interested in. Some specifically want English and quite a few will take english or humanities.

2) I noticed that some schools also require behavior science. If i put it as "in-progress", will I be able to specify which schools those "in-progress" will be for? It all goes into the same pot and goes out to every school. No breaking up your transcript. Just take into to psych or sociology, make an A and be done with it.

3) My school's intro bio classes doesn't have a lab with it, will upper div biochem lab count? The course names are 1) protein biochemistry lab and 2) recombinant dna lab. They are under CHEM department though.

Depends again on the particular programs. Some want more specific bio w/assoc labs and some just want 8 hrs of ug bio and labs and don't care. Those classes sound more like chem than bio, so you likely might be doing extra work for nothing.

Look up the med schools you might want to apply to and see how they word what they want on their website and in the admissions/student catalog. With the AACOMAS you can specify what classes meet what requirements. If they (AACOMAS) class the chem labs as chem and not bio then u would likely run into problems before even getting your app done because you couldn't count them as meeting the requirement. There are online universities that offer bio & labs.

Thank you guys for your time.
