Hi,

I'm starting this thread because I found myself in a bit of a rough/difficult situation.
I took NBME 17 about 3 weeks ago, on which I got a 188. After that NBME I wasn't able to study for almost 2.5 weeks due to the death of a close relative. Knowing I was facing difficult times and wasn't able to study at all for almost 2.5 weeks, I changed my exam date to the end of November (29th). This leaves me, as of Today, with 3 full weeks of dedicated studying.
I still have 42% of UWorld to complete. (58% Cumulative so far on this first pass which has been done on Random and Timed mode). I'm also going thru FA, Pathoma and Anki Cards daily. I should be able to finish UWorld in 2 weeks, and have the last week to go over incorrect q's.

How realistic are my chances of passing the exam?
Any advice?

Thanks for your time and wish you all success/best of luck on your studies,

MdRoboto

Well i have a friend that he failed all the nbmes, but he has uworld overall 65% and he got 218.

He only use fa and uworld + pathoma.

Take an NBME or two. Only way to tell.

I will be taking NBME 18 before the exam. Do you suggest taking it a week before? This gives me two full weeks of studying before the NBME and a week to hit weak subjects before the exam.

Thanks for the reply and congrats on an awesome score btw!

That's awesome! It's kind of crazy that there are people that can manage to do things like this and others who failed with good NBME average scores. So many variables come into play. I will have to grind this 3 weeks like crazy and hope to get a form that suites my knowledge. But there's no way I'm going to sit down without passing NBME 18. Hoping for the best. Thanks for sharing.

What improvement can I expect on this 3 weeks?
(Finishing UWorld, going over incorrects and another pass of FA)

Sorry if this q is kinda vague and too general. I know some of you have a good knowledge of all the users that post here over the years and can give some valuable input/opinions. Enough SDN, back to the books I go...

Thanks for your time!

You're welcome. Yes, taking it a week before the exam is reasonable - gives you time to spot any remaining weak areas and tie up the loose ends.
