Hello, and thanks ahead for reading this post!
I am currently in my senior year at college and am completing an ecomomics degree. I had originally started college as a science major but later on realized that maybe business was something I wanted to pursue. Thus, I have completed 1 semester each of general chemistry, biology and organic chemistry. I acceted my credit for General Chemistry 2 and Biology 2 because gen chem 1 and bio 1 were just to easy for me. It was after my first semester of organic chemistry that I changed to business. I have now decided that after the last year of reconsidering it, medicine is what I want to pursue. I'm having difficulty with what I should be doing next year. I emailed some post-bac programs (goucher, bryn mawr, scripps, etc.) and was told I would most likely be inelligible for the programs because I have too many prereqs completed. However, I don't feel as I if i possess much knowledge in these subject areas anymore. I'm confused as to what my options are, primarily with what I should be apply to or thinking of doing after graduation. Another thing I am concerned about is that I have not formed any meaningful relationships with the science professors I did have which means I have no science letter of recommendations. I was hoping by apply to postbacs so that it would be easier to obtain those as well. Does anyone have any ideas of what I could do next year to complete this coursework and obtain letters at the same time? I feel like I have dug myself into deep of a hole that I cannot get out of and will never be able to get into medical school.
Thank you for your time!
