I needed some advice...old IMG graduated in 2012 and since have been struggling with the tests.
I did make an attempt on Step 1 and failed miserably in 2015. Gave up and decided to pick up another line but do to family circumstances and financial constraints now have decided to pick it up again. I do know my chances are the least possible, if any at all , but what would be the best way to tackle this? Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Sorry to hear it. Suggestions:

1) Try to figure out why you failed in 2015 and resolve those issues.

2) If one of your problems was a weaker knowledge base in the basic sciences, then you will have to resolve that. For IMGs Kaplan is supposed to be good, but I've seen some of the videos and felt they were far too time-consuming and not high yield enough. I have heard good things about Boards and Beyond. They have some free videos online that you can view and see if they work for you. The videos I've seen are fantastic (e.g., concise, high yield, helpful in establishing a good knowledge base). I never used Boards and Beyond, but if I had to start from a weak knowledge base then I would seriously consider Boards and Beyond.

3) Similarly, you should check out Pathoma.

4) Once you have built a good enough knowledge base in the basic sciences, you could move to reading FA, then doing blocks of UWorld questions. And every once week or two take a recent NBME to see how you're progressing.
