Hey guys,

I don't post too often but I could use some advice. I'm a little distraught over my practice NBME 11 score that I took today. I scored around the same as my first practice exam which was UWorld exam 1. I got around a 500 on both and that was two weeks ago, before I started my dedicated prep.

The odd thing is that I do really well on the UWorld qbank on top of that. Last three were 78, 69, 69%. It just seems that I'm really inconsistent which is fine if I knew why. Overall, I felt the questions on the NBME had a slightly different format that UWorld. But I don't think that would cause such a huge disparity. So what am I missing? Anyone else experience the same thing? Appreciate any input. Thanks!

Join the club? Sorry.

I also got the same on my first NBME after 2 weeks of studying as I did on my pre-dedicated-study school assessment. A previous school assessment, before finishing the semester, put me much higher, and I had written off the last one as me not focusing because it was the day after our last exam.

I know my problem is inconsistency in the subjects: some I can get at least 80% right no problem, a few I'm at like 50%, and some in the middle. Does it look that way for you? If so, you have an easy way forward, focusing on your week areas.

Not that I can give much advice. But I can commiserate!

edit: I'm also scoring like that on UWorld, by subject. It's the subjects I haven't done on UWorld that I'm not doing well in. This means once we finishing UWorld we should be better off.

Well, it's always good to know I'm not the only one!

Yeah I also have a few weak areas but they're not that much weaker. I haven't reviewed general path or micro yet but it'll happen. Hopefully I do better next week.
