Hi guys,

I just took the MCAT a couple of weeks ago, and scores will be coming out in a couple more weeks. If I didn't do as well as I wanted, I plan on retaking it the first week of July. In the meantime, I'm going to go ahead and get everything submitted for the AMCAS the first week of June. My question is, if I decide to retake the MCAT in July, how does this affect my application process? Should I wait to actually send my AMCAS to any schools until the beginning of August, or should I go ahead and submit it- do the schools know that I'll be taking it again and will thus not make a decision but go ahead and begin processing it? Any input would be great.

Thanks guys.

You want to go ahead and submit it to get the processing out of the way, because it can take a while. Do not wait for later. If the schools recieve your AMCAS without the MCAT score, they will probably just put it aside until it comes it. Adding in the MCAT score on the other hand happens instantaneously.
