Hi everyone! My cousin graduatedhigh school. She didn't attend college right after because her family didn'thave enough money to support her. She decided to work a full time job for two years to earn money and to continue her education as biologist when she has enough money. She wants to learn general biology by herself to maintain her knowledge while working . She doesn't know what textbook is good for her and asks me for advice. I recommend

Biology (8thEdition) by Neil A. Campbell, Jane B. Reece

Biology 8th by solomonberg martin

Biology The Unityand Diversity of Life 12 edition By Starr, Taggart,Christine A. Evers

Because thosetextbooks are what my friends recommended me. But I don't know for sure which general biology book is really good for her. Do you guys have any opinion or suggestion?

Best regards 🙂

Definitely Campbell, covers everything, and most universities use this text. I used this book (5th edition) in hs for AP bio.

Campbell was my university textbook as well.

I preferred Mader (bought a used copy when I was studying for the PCAT for $1.00) because there are more pictures and the material was presented in slightly more dumbed down manner than Campbell.
