Hi SDN! I'm a recent grad doing an informal post-bacc for academic enhancement. Hoping to gain some insight on a tricky situation regarding classes:

I've taken the 1st quarter of ochem (lecture) + full year lab, but need to retake the 2nd & 3rd quarters of lecture. My post-bacc is on the semester system - should I take both the 1st and 2nd semesters of ochem or just the 2nd? Content-wise based on the syllabi, 1st quarter = 1st semester and 2nd semester = 2nd & 3rd quarters. However, my concern is that 1 quarter + 1 semester will be insufficient for the 1 year requisite that most schools have for ochem. On the other hand, I'm also concerned schools may view me retaking the 1st semester as GPA padding.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

Take the 1st semester. Assuming that it's been more than 5 minute since you last took organic chemistry, you're going to want the refresher.

I'll admit that I am NO expert so take my advice with a grain of salt but I'd take both semesters if I were you.

I would do both semesters as well. It's easy enough to explain why you did so, and you get a little GPA padding without it being sketch
