Hey i just wanted to know everyone’s advice on when i should take the DAT.
Please note that this coming up fall and spring i will be taking orgo and biochem in spring.
So when do you think i should schedule to take the DAT?
I plan on purchasing DAT Bootcamp and i will be using orgoman/DAT destroyer right after summer semester ends and i will start my studying ASAP. ( i am currently taking physics 2 righ now in this summer session.)

Which orgo? I took my DAT right after orgo 2 and I benefited greatly from it. Most of the reactions you have to memorize/understand stem from orgo 2 material, so I'd personally hold off on the DAT until you finish orgo 2. Biochem gave me little to no upper hand, and the sciences on the DAT don't go into as much detail as you would in biochem, so you can take that class whenever.

I would take the test as soon as possible following completion of orgo 1+2. Orgo lab was definitely not necessary. I started studying while I was completing orgo 2 and biochem in the spring and took the test in early summer after a few weeks of dedicated study time - it worked out great for me personally. I spent little time reviewing orgo, which allowed me to spend a lot of time reviewing older stuff like gen chem.

Best time to take it would be during winter break junior year imo. Study throughout fall semester and then hit cram time during break. By doing this, you have the opportunity to retake the DAT in March if you aren't satisfied with your score. Even if you botch it again in March, you'll be able to retake it again in June.

To clarify, I took the test in the summer the year before I would apply, so after sophomore year ended. I would not advise taking it the summer that you are applying because as BasicG mentioned you won't have time to retake if necessary.
