Hi everyone,

I was hoping to get some feedback on my list of schools that I am applying to for MD/PhD this cycle.

Quick stats about me:

I am a rather late applicant this cycle, my AMCAS was submitted Sep. 10th and verified Oct. 4. I have three years of research in biology, chemistry, and psychology labs (all sustained experiences averaging 1+ years), two full time summer research programs (one in Brazil!), two published papers, and I received a Goldwater Scholarship this year.

My cum. GPA is 3.98 and my BCPM is 4.0. I received a 38Q (12/11/15) on the august 18th MCAT. I eventually want to pursue research in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine.

Schools so far:

Harvard
Johns Hopkins
University of Pennsylvania
Yale
Duke
Vanderbilt
University of Pittsburgh
University of Virginia
University of California San Francisco
Emory
University of Colorado
MUSC
Wake Forest
Nebraska
Chapel Hill

Is this too top heavy? Too many places? Do I have a shot at any of the top 20 being this late in the game?

Looks like a standard list of schools to me with good coverage. I don't think you should worry too much. You'll get interviews even this late with stats like that. Unless there are more places you really do want to go, I wouldn't add any just for the sake of upping your chances.

I say apply to more.

UCSD, Columbia, Michigan, UCLA, Baylor, WashU, etc.

Definitely not too many places, I'd say it's average or slightly below.
