I am currently a 4th year a University. I have taken the MCAT already, however I have a very low GPA. I was wondering if the steps I am taking now is the right path to go.
The reason for my low gpa is because I withdrew from the University 3 times on separate occasions. The first incident was of my medical issue the second year of my college career and was behind on my classes. The second incident and third was because my mother and grandmother were diagnosed with terminal cancer, however both have recovered. Thank you God! So I was wondering if the steps I am taking are the right steps?
Current GPA: 3.1
MCAT Score: 38
Planning to raise my GPA with the future classes I am currently taking. I have no clue of how high my GPA would go up, I have been getting 4.0 on every single classes I have taking starting this summer. I still have a total of about 60 units left before I get my degree. I was a double major my first and second year with biochemistry / political science. I am currently planning to just finish with my political science degree.
Anyone have an idea what my final GPA would be? Afterward I plan to apply to SMP schools? Is this the right way to go? My extracirricular activities are up there, and I have been involved in a lot of activities with a passion. Hope someone could help me with this.
I am also trying to convince my adviser to let me retake some classes in the past to bring up my GPA.. any ideas? My other friend scored a 40 on the MCAT and has a GPA of 2.1, what are his chances as well?
Another Note: I was wondering should I be working my final year? Was wondering did any of you guys work during your undergraduate year? My friend is also wondering the same thing. I told him that it should be fine with his 40 on the MCAT, but does he stand a chance to raise his GPA?
