I want to know what people think....
I am currently #1 on my state's dental school waiting list and this is my number 1 choice school. I have been accepted to a private school on the opposite side of the country and I will go there if things fall through with my state school.

Does anybody know what my chances are of getting in? Should I still worry about where I'm going to school (the private school starts Aug27 & state school Sept 17). Should I line up places to live in Boston (the private school)?

I would like to know what others are doing who are in my situation.

If I was in your situation (I wish!), most likely I would be looking for a place in Boston and not assume anything. Boston is a crowded area. I would prepare to go to Boston. Being that you are #1, I'd put my money that you will get accepted to state school. I mean, there has to be a few people who are weighing their options and waiting to send in their decline letters. But you should always prepare.

I agree with savysearch on this one. There are no guarantees on waitlists. Even if you are numero' UNO. how do you know that for sure. I can see you wanting to go to your state school on the otherhand as well. It's probably going to be cheaper in the long run. Just to be on the safeside go ahead and act like your going to boston. Do you have to put down a payment anytime soon in boston for school and apartment etc. I can see the total waste of money if you have to put down first months rent and a deposit on an appartment in BOSTOn and then being accepted to your state school. There goes the deposit.

Just feel great that your going to DENTAL school.

thanks for all your help.

Actually I received the "call" I have always dreamed about getting...I will be attending my 1st choice school!!!!
