Yes, SDN just implemented a quality control policy. If your post is utter bullsh*t then you don't get credit for it!

what do I do about shoes? leather or non-leather? Extra shiny, just-had-a-shoeshine-shiny, or dull but clean? Covered heel or woodened stacked heel? Are sling-back pumps OK or only regular pumps? would clog-back sneakers be ok for the tours?

I go to a top 25 undergrad (which is ranked by the oh so infallible usnews system), henceforth, i'm just better than you in all facets of life. Med schools realize this, obviously.
So i'm great. I mean, I'm REALLY great, like the GREATEST THING YOU'VE EVER HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF TALKING TO. I'm not being arrogant, I just need to let you *****s know, you didn't go to a top 25 school, so you dont have any hope and you all suck and you're all stupid and no med school will ever accept you so dont waste your money applying, you'll need it when you're homeless after your worthless degree opens exactly zero doors for you.

i got here a residency status issue. about two years ago i got arrested for grand theft in Texas (i was framed, by the way. i swear the scissors were planted on me) and got put away in the slammer these last two years. i'm originally a NY resident. do i qualify for texas resident status? any insight would be greatly appreciated.
I believe that you do qualify for texas residency. The requirement is simply that you reside in Texas for a year continuously without attending an institution of higher learning. I don't believe that Texas requires you to hold a job or register to vote (which you obviously cannot do as a felon), or open a bank account or own property, or do anything that might contribute to the state's economic prosperity.
And I'd like to strongly encourage you to follow your dream of becoming a doctor. Don't let a little thing like a felony conviction, or a prison term, interfere with your desire to help humanity.

What I am pissed off about, no pun intended, is your horrible advice to immediatespring about depends undergarments. The proper approach to her situation (which of course a no-talent ass clown such as yourself wouldn't know the first thing about) would be to have her purchase a home catheterization kit. All serious med school applicants wear catheters b/c taking time out from feeding the poor or building hospitals in 3rd world countries to take a leak is unacceptable and shows selfishness. Is that what you want immediatespring to convey to the adcom?
Frankly I am surprised at your advice and if I did not know any better I'd say that you were purposely trying to sabotage immediatespirngs chances of getting in. I hope I never run into selfish egomaniacs such as yourself in medical school. With your deceptive attitude you don't even deserve to become a hospital orderlie let alone a physician. Please note that I shall be reporting your behavior to all the adcoms across the country. My carrier pigeon "Pedro" is a very, very swift flyer. Expect to be rejected from all schools within the next day or two and have all your existing acceptances rescinded immediately.

Welcome back Explo. We needed you since the advice on this thread has gone straight downhill

Thanks for looking out for me Explo! 😍

woots dearie, please dont go! 😉Originally posted by Woots32
I can take a hint! I can see when I'm not wanted! Just because I've been the only one who cares enough about my fellow premeds to actually take the time to answer their superfluous, idiotic questions, and you disagree with my opinions, means that you can rip me a new one in front of the whole SDN community.
Well, I've had enough of all you a$$holes. I am officially boycotting posting on SDN until I see hundreds of posts telling me to calm down, and what an awesome person I am, and that you all miss me and are dying to read another of my hilarious, insightful posts.
Until you all come groveling back, good bye and good riddance. 😡

You know what they say, the tenth time's the charm...
Surely any Adcom with a soul would be touched by your unfailing dedication and give you a shot...the only problem IS finding an Adcom with souls, since everyone knows that for the most part, they're minions of Satan who base their decisions solely on MCAT scores and they color of the interviewee's suit.

Hey DW, my undergrad was ranked 24th in the USNEWS rankings my Junior year, but was then moved to 27th my Senior year. Do I have a shot of getting in somewhere?

Guys, I have enjoyed all of these jokes and good humor, but I got a real question so please put aside the jokes just for a second.
I have a Baylor on Dec 13. I have a very good friend who lives in Houston, so I am going to drive down there the day before my interview to spend the day with him and his wife.
My question is, since I will be in Houston (the same city as the admissions committee) the day before my interview, what should I wear. I am aware that Houston has 2million people and covers hundreds of sqaure miles, but just in case I happen to run into a member of the admissions committee, I want to be well dressed. God forbid, my jeans and hawaiian shirt be held against me. Should I wear my Hunter green suit the entire day before, or should I mix it up with a purple suit so that I can save my hunter green for interview day. Or should a wear a t-shirt that says..."I love Baylor univeristy" Should a carry my leather porfolio around with with a copy of my AMCAS application and resume.
Thanks for helping me with this important issue.

also wanted to ask, dunno, maybe woots would know this:
can i get in trouble with the law for uprooting my mailbox and taking it into the house with me so i don't have to walk outside to check mail? i, um...my friend did this yesterday and she even drew big arrows in chalk on the driveway so the mailman would know where it went
Originally posted by Woots32
Maybe you should do what I - er, one of my friends - did. Install a security camera focused on the interior of your mailbox. Rig up a handheld TV (like the one they used in Ocean's 11) so that no matter where you are, at any time of the day or night, you can know if you have recieved new mail. If it's the going outside thing that bothers you, I suggest purchasing a trained monkey who could run outside and retrieve your mail. Just make sure that the monkey is wearing diapers, as you do not want any correspondence you may have to return to med schools to become accidentally soiled. 😉

Hey guys I have a question. Pubes. Should I wear them up or down? I was thinking of something along the lines of a french braid with a scrunchy (hunter green of course) to top it all off.
This is really stressing me out. What should I do? 😕

of course, the interviewee's suit color MUST match their cockring color. minions of satan take their color-coordination very seriously.

Okay, I think I may have ruined any chance I will ever have of becoming a physician. 🙁
Today I sent in my deposit to hold my space at one of the schools I've been accepted to, along with that technical standards sheet. Just to make it perfectly clear that I wanted the spot in the class, i jotted down a quick note saying I was very thankful for the offer, and I would like to reserve a place in the class. But the problem is...
I HANDWROTE THE LETTER.
And on loose-leaf paper, no less.
Technically I'm already in, but do you think there's a chance they may rescind their offer because I didn't type the note?
HELP!!! 🙁 🙁 🙁
