Hi

I'm planning to take my DAT exam on July 28th
And I know ADA will take 2-3 weeks to send my official DAT scores to each dental school.

Meanwhile, what can I do in order to be in the first interview cyle?
I'm just wondering if I coud fax or email to each dental school with my "unofficial DAT score"

I read some threads here that I would get the unofficial DAT score right after I take the DAT test. Is that true? This would be the first time taking DAT so I'm not sure how it works.

Let me know.
Thanks

True. Your scores will show up on the computer screen as soon as you finish the exam and you will be given a copy on the way out.
You should ask your favorite schools if they accept the fax of unofficial score report. Some do, others don't.

from what i read so far, most schools probably will not count faxed unofficial DAT scores for selecting interview invites (since anyone can easily fake the document to get the interview seats)

i think taking it on end of July probably will not put you in the 'early' applicant pool since there are already 4th mail outs sent out from AADSAS I believe and by August, schools would've figured out the first round interviewees. But who knows, taking more time to prepare for your DAT might be a better choice than rush through it and get in the first pool

I thought schools would not look at applications until August.
If they start interviewing applicants in late Aug/early Sept, is my DAT date too late?
I'm so worried now....

Anyone?

It should depend on which schools you apply to.
If you apply to ones with early review process such as Nova or Case, your app won't be considered "early." But, if you apply to schools like Tufts, you will still be one of the early applicants since they hold onto apps until October.

Thanks for the reply
Is there any website for showing the approx date for selecting early applicants? or Do I simply need to email each dental school?

And also,
What about UPenn, Columbia, NYU and USC?
