I was just wondering, I have been thinking about dental school after graduation. However after Dental school I will be 31 years old, is it hard to find a job for a new dentist of that age? Thanks everyone!

I agree with everything that has been said so far.

There's a small window to be a dentist, and if you don't become a dentist before you're 30, it's gonna be extremely hard to find a job.

I'm pretty sure you can find work as a dentist at most ages as long as you can use your hands well. I wouldn't worry about 31!

because its america and people change careers all the time... just like why are you on a dental section when you're so in love with the MD program...

I would think a 31 y/o with zero experience would have a slight advantage over a 25 y/o with zero experience to land a job as a dentist.

If you knew nothing else about the dentist/surgeon to perform your procedure, would you choose the baby-faced doc or the one with a couple of gray hairs?

As one who has hired a few dentists over the years I think I can address your question.

NO!!!! In this profession age is not much of a factor. In the past I have hired 2 dentists over 60 because they were skilled at their craft. I presently work with one guy that is over 70, HOWEVER he is the best "denture guy" within 60 miles.
