Albany gpa
Started by asianbabigrl87
I believe the range is 3.9-4.0
3.9-4.0 for transfer students? i know someone who got in when she was still in the process of applying to a 4 yr u from a community college. do they not take into account that people attending community college might have higher gpa because the classes are not as rigorous as those offered at a 4 yr u (like a UC school)?

They probably don't care which school you went to. Several students were rejected with gpa 3.7-3.85 last year. I think that the gpa for 2007 transfer students would be the same (3.9-4.0). I agree that 3.9-4.0 gpa at community college does not equal 3.9 gpa at University of California. Life is unfair.
Really? I wonder why would they say on the Pharmcas website that average GPA is 3.6, those liars.
My classmate (gpa 3.8) was rejected last year. Take a look at this. 3 students (3.7, 3.7, and 3.76 with BS) were rejected last year.

I got 3.65 overall and 3.61 Science and I am Canadian. Crap.
lol. doublecrap for me. goodbyeeeeee, albany.😛
I guess I would consider not applying then...save $140. but i still don't understand why they would consider a 4.0 at a community college better than a 3.6 from a good U. I believe that anyone having this gpa is capable of getting a 4.0 at a community college. might as well drop this U thing and attend a community college directly from high school and then apply to albany. Thanks for sharing 🙂

The reason was mentionned many times.
They look only at the NUMBERS, not the name of your school.
Again, NEVER NEVER AND EVER apply to Albany, even though your have a 4.0 GPA, unless you are in-state.
