My friend gets allergic reaction to everytime she drinks alcohol. When she takes mixed drinks or shots, she'd get a burning sensation, redness, sort of an inflammation reaction for any allergy. I really don't know what to tell her beside asking her to drink plenty of water after to clear out the toxicity in her liver, apply hydrocortisone ointment/cream on the affected areas, take benadryl or any antihistamine drugs and if possible try to get some corticoid drugs. Humm is there any other method that treat alcohol allergy? or ways to reduce the effects of it?!

And she still wants to drink?? Why not just stop altogether?

I wonder if this is a separate mechanism from the genetically defective alcohol dehydrogenase 2 enzyme.
