hey i'm taking my ndb in first week of jan and am planning on applying to BU for hte upcoming semester whtihc i think starts in november or something...my question is

The BU website says the deadlines for all applications is march 31st 2004, do you think there is even any point of me applyin to BU so late ? cuz my application is probably gonna reach them around feb 2004 and as i can see most of you have already applied adn have even gotten calls for interviews and stuff...i want to apply even if there is a slight chance i might get in cuz otherwise i'm gonna have to waste a whole year waiting for hte next admission cycle...so do you guys think there is any point of applying so late? please let me know

Also what other schools have a deadline that i could meet if i get all my application with scores and everything ready by feb?
by teh way i'm applying for advanced standing.

hey.....donworry about we people getting interview calls and all that....the BU rule says that anyone who can furnish a "completed application" before the application deadline of March 1st, and meets the required 85+ in NBDE 1 and 250 in TOEFL, "may" be scheduled for an interview. So that shouldnt affect you or anyone who wants to join the race after this Dec 1 exam. A friend of mine had the same concern, and has now discovered about this and is quite happy🙂
so apply right away and send only the scores once yu obtain them (AND THAT IS IF YOU RECIEVE THE RESULTS ON TIME!!!)
all the best............
K'jal.

PS: also which is that NBDE you are taking in "the first week of jan"....???? i thought that the NBDE is on Dec 1st!!

Remember BU works under rolling addmissions.

i'm planning on taking the computerized version..i talked to the supervisor at ada after the mess happnened with my check not going through and missing the deadline for the december 1st exam and i asked what was i supposed to do now..and she said the ndb1 will be up and running at the turn of the new year and she said i can register for that any day...in fact if you contact the prometic people who adminster the exam they can register you by phone....however the ada site has yet to put up an application to the computerized version but the supervisor said it will be available online very soon...so let's hope for the best

Hey, Khurram, send in your application!! my best friend gave the exam in december 2002, sent in his application mid-feb 2003 and got a place in the 2003 class. Of course he was lucky, but u might be too... plus you'll be sending in your application a whole month before he did! all the best..

thanks for your help tasha...by the way if you dont mind could i ask what scores he got on his ndb1? toefl? thanx for the info take care

Hello, again, Khurram.. My friend got 85 on his part 1 and approx. 280 on his toefl.. he had a really strong GPA, plus he volunteered under a top dentist in the US for a couple of months (remember our FPD guru, Schillinberg??) and he claimed his interview went really well. So, Im not sure what part of his application really worked in his favor.. but the whole point is, a late application does not rule out your possibility of admission. 🙂
