I know this has been discussed in many threads in the past but did not see where it had been discussed in a few years. I wanted to see if there has been any new updates regarding this topic.
A brief background on myself:
I am 34 years old and have a bachelors degree in business (not obtaining many BCPM courses). I was initially in the medical field, switched to business and now have finally decided to pursue my passion in medicine. However; my current socioeconomic status prevents me from relocating for school, obtaining financial aid and paying higher costs for a 4 year institution. So I will be paying out of pocket for my education. There is a 4 year institution near me that is expensive and doesn't offer many night courses (which I will need). However, there is a community college near me (that also offers 4 year degrees but is still considered a junior college) that is much less expensive and offers a reasonable payment plan. They also offer many evening courses in all subjects (for prerequisites). I essentially have no other option but to go to a community college, if I am to do this now (which I am and am determined to do).
Is there anyone who has been accepted into medical school (more recently and/or in the past) with taking virtually all prerequisites at the community college level? Anyone else in my same situation? I realize that some medical schools accept CC credit and some don't.
Thanks in advance.
