Ok guys. If anyone is on a waitlist we should do each other (potential future collegues) a favour...If you have no intention of going to that school even if accepted later which you are waitlisted (i.e have gotten an acceptance into another school and will put deposit down because you want to go to there). Plz inform the school you want off the waitlist so the the waitlist moves faster.

I called a school and asked when will the waiting list move, they said it can move anytime from today till July.

My guess is that after the 30 day deadline they review the waitlist as new seats become available. But it depends on the school.

My suggestion in the first post is beneficial in both scenarios:

1. If schools give out acceptances as they are declining:
You will get your acceptance earlier since those that are on the waitlist given offers will also be given 30 days to decline/accept but if your gonna decline anyway why not let a person who wants acceptance to that school know earlier?

2. If deadline based
Same deal, you will get your offer in say Jan instead of having wait till March

I agree! If you've been accepted to your choice, please inform them that you are going to attend and then decline your other options ASAP. There are lots of wait-listers patiently waiting...
