I was wondering if anyone uses this test for IMEs, as I do a ton of these ( about 1 / week).

This looks like a pretty good test , as it has a validity scale and attempts to detect response bias ( among other phenomena). The website states that it takes someone about " 10 minutes " to get through it, although it's 63 questions long, so this seems a bit optimistic. At this length, I would have a bit of a concern that some people might be randomly responding to simply finish the thing.

I like to think I've gotten pretty good at doing these type of evaluations , but would really like more objective data.

Any feedback / experience with this tool would be much appreciated.

The BBHI-2 :

If it's 63 questions it will take most of your patients 30 minutes to do it, and some of your patients 2 hours to do. I don't care what the website says.

No doubt.

However, at the present time I use already use a heck of a lot of questionairres:

1. Oswestry / Neck disability index ( almost always both in the case of MVA claimants).

2. GAD -7

3. PHQ-9

4. FABQ

In the case of the FABQ, there isn't a lot of evidence behind this tool (i.e. "hard numbers" for a cut off to suggest pain amplification behavior, where you can hang your hat).

If you add these up, it would likely be in the neighbourhood of 20-25 minutes. This is why I'm thinking of using the BBHI-2 : get rid of some of the above, and use this tool. It likely has a better utility for what I'm doing. The insurance company would pay for it.

This is why I ask what peeps experiences are with it - go or no go ?
