What are the chances of students getting off alternate lists? (I am curious because I read some posts which were in regards to people being on alternate lists.)


Are alternate lists ranked or does the committee look at the entire application?

It really depends on the school and how much the accepted applicants want to go there. Schools like BU and NYU tend to go through more people on their waitlist than a school like Arizona.

Most schools do rank the list based on the application and interview. If you really want the best information, you're gonna have to call the school and probe them for information on where you stand.
