"Alternate" status @ Midwestern

I called Midwestern today, and I was told I was an "Alternate." Anyone know what exactly this means? Is it the same as waitlist?

I just called as well..and she said I was an Alternative as well.. Yeah it's just like a waitlist..she said that i could get called anyday up till the first day of class. For me, fortunately it doesnt matter, i got into a couple other schools. But good luck to you. If you really want to go there maybe you should email someone and let them know that is your #1 choice. It cant hurt.

The admission staff at VCU specifically told us not to call about our status, so I'm worried that with all the calls schools get that Midwestern may take out their frustrations on me and just tell me that I've been rejected.

I'm know that I'm getting too worked up about it, but some people have said that they called and were rejected over the phone...so should I call? How did you guys feel the people in the office reacted to having to look up your status?

I called them, and they were super friendly. Just be sure to have your social security # handy.
