I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on the chances of being called to fill an empty seat if I was granted alternate positions at 2 vet schools this past year...for example would you say the chances diminish as the months progress closer and closer to when school begins? Thanks 🙂

It really depends on which schools youre talking about. At some, the waitlist doesnt move at all (i.e. Illinois). At others, it may move a great deal.

I don't think they diminish... people withdraw for various reasons, and that starts a chain reaction of people accepting at other schools and withdrawing at their original school, etc. I've heard of quite a few people getting in off of waitlists, so don't give up hope. One girl in my class got in sometime in July - thank goodness she had moved home and hadn't signed another lease! Who knows how many people were in her situation who did not get in... but don't tie yourself in to something until you know for certain.
