Are there any PA programs done via distance learning? Also, are there any NP programs that allow admission without a RN license?

There are direct entry NP programs (3 years long I believe) where you get your BSN and then NP. You do have to have an undergrad degree though, and meet pre-reqs.

there are no distance learning pa programs.
there are a # of distance learning np programs for nurses who already have a bsn. see wetern university of the health sciences and others.

I found a DL PA program just today searching the web...can't remember where it was though. Illinois maybe?

Post a link if you can find it again. there was an attempt at this at east carolina a few yrs ago and there was such an uproar from professional working pa's that they closed after admitting 1 class.

Maybe the PA's need to update themselves on what's happening with education these days. Classrooms are outdated.

when they start teaching the 1st 2 yrs of medschool as a continuing ed program for pa's I might agree with you.....until then I think I will stick with the interactive classroom approach......

Now, emedpa, you know medical school is still teaching outdated material. Why would you look to them as leaders, LOL! 😕

Not as Entry Level to become a PA. There are DLP programs for those who are already PAs, to get their Master's.

I know many physicians who did not go to the first two years of med school other than labs and tests and are now board certified physicians. Note services were popular several years ago, but are being replaced by full note sets on CDROM. I don't advocate this type of learning, and prefer the interactive environment that you endorse, but it is done successfully by many individuals.
