Long story short: I just received a negative hep B titer so that means I need to have a booster shot, which I am getting today. However i won't be able to get my titer done again for at least another month cause it takes time for the antibodies to build up. My med school requires the immunization record (which includes a positive hep b titer) by 7/1, which I clearly won't be able to fulfill. I called the school but their health dep is closed already (I guess they close early on Friday). Am I going to lose my medical school spot because of something as stupid as this?

Extremely unlikely. Most likely you will need to simply submit the results you have to the school, and talk to the health department about what they want you to do to document your successful completion of the boosters, etc. They are not going to boot you over this, so don't worry, but DO make sure you contact them as soon as you can to find out what you need to do.

You'll be fine. I'm in an identical situation (due 7/1, tested negative for Hep B antibodies, need 3 shot series). I'm just going to send in the sheets saying this. If you have any further concerns, you can always call.

just call your school and talk it over with them...it's not like they are going to let you do anything "real" with patients for quite some time anyway. We literally know nothing useful at this point

This is not an infrequent occurrence. Not to worry: they won't kick you out.

UVM, by any chance?

I got accepted very recently so I am also scrambling to get the immuno work done. I emailed them and they told me to relax. Point being, no you arn't going to lose your spot. All will be OK.

You won't lose your spot. Same thing happened to me, simply had to get the 2nd titer after matriculation and provided them with the paperwork.

I had to get a 2nd set of shots too, which I didn't complete until well into first year. Don't worry about it.

Not everyone develops titers to the shot. I've had the whole series with boosters and I still don't have positive titers. It's hard to get into medical school but once you're in, it's pretty hard to get kicked out.
