AMA (American Medical Association) donates $20,000 to legislators in support of ensuring video games are labeled properly when sold and marketed to children.

How do you feel about the use of our donated money for this cause? Is the amount appropriate? Could the money have gone somewhere else more appropriate?

Does the AMA have any business being involved with this at all?

Sigh.. damn it AMA.... we got a lot bigger fish to fry please...

This is nonesense.

My 12 year old bought a game and now he beats the cops in it and sleeps with street ******..... Please I can't control him. The government must do something!!! *Insert sarcasm for those who are blunt*

How is the AMA responsible for the parents that buy their kids games rated Mature?

Yet another reason not to join the AMA.

And they wonder why less than 50% of the physicians in the US belong.

See I was afraid someone would take it that way....and indeed someone did.

Just because I disagree with the AMA doesn't mean I should not join it. It's the biggest voice for your rights that you got as a physician. Now if you think they lobby for stupid things, then fine, participate and tell them where you think they should lobby... not just shrug off.

Leaving the organization is not the answer.

<========= NOT in the AMA.

I belong to many professional medical organizations. That one does not represent me :)
