Well, I think it was verified today. I haven't received any email notification yet and the status on the AMCAS homepage hasn't changed from "Ready for Review," BUT I did receive 2 emails from Boston U this morning telling me that they just received my AMCAS and would like me to complete their secondary application. Hmmm... any ideas?

I received them yesterday and was verified today. you'll be processed only when they say you are. but no worries. probably very soon.

I tried the built-in Google search with no success and I wasn't able to find anything on this thread pertaining to my question (probably because AMCAS seems to spell it out but I am being obstinate in my quest for clarification)... but this has surely been asked before so if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be appreciative.

My AMCAS application was submitted a long time ago (before my summer session started). I now have grades to add and a slight modification to a course description (for some reason I thought workshop meant lab but it really just meant an extra session with the TA). On the AMCAS 'Academic Change Request' page it says "AMCAS will not make corrections based on information which becomes available after the initial submission of your materials or modify current/future ("CC") coursework." And in the PDF instruction book, it says "If you request a change or a correction to your course listing after your application has been submitted to AMCAS, notify the schools directly of the change or correction."

So, here are my (dense-minded) questions:

1 -- Now that my AMCAS application is complete and processed, am I correct in thinking that from this point forward I deal directly with the schools (meaning, I should have my summer institution forward transcripts to the med schools directly)?

2 -- And is it correct to assume that I should send requests for course description changes to each institution to which I am applying?

It's amazing how quickly the excitement about secondaries vanishes after the first 3 or 4. I was verified on July 23rd and have submitted 0/12 🙁

Hopefully that will change in the next day or two...

Hopefully it does. Sorry... I'm just excited that my AMCAS was finally verified today... I feel like I'm SO behind in the game, esp reading up on all the other posters here who submitted on June 1st. I'll probably be in the same boat as you, come the 4th or 5th secondary. I'm also banking on the fact that I'll be rejected pre-secondary from a bunch of reach schools (Harvard, Stanford, UCSF), but I guess there's no harm (only lost money) in trying, right?

Haha, no worries- I'm just venting. And you will be getting a Stanford secondary- they don't screen pre-secondary, and they just sent them out today. Good luck on getting started!

Hmmm... MSAR needs to make a correction to the Stanford SOM profile. If I remember correctly, it said that secondaries are sent AFTER SCREENING. Oh well, now that they don't, I guess I'll look forward to the non-screening but reach schools, too. Good luck with the rest of your secondaries, Reimat!

I had the same problem... I sent out my transcript in June and just submitted my AMCAS AUG 1st...and they said they don't have my transcripts... I figured they lost mine so I just had to have the schools resend my transcripts putting me way way back in the application pool.

You should call them to make sure and just send in a second set so that they will receive it.
