Sorry guys, I know this has been beaten to death, and I did try to search feature but it wouldn't work with me to find stuff.

So anyways... how do I enter the following courses.
(This is exactly how they appear on my transcript)

711 AP Biology 05-01
712 AP European His 05-02
713 AP English Lang 05-03
714 AP Physics B 05-03

What do I put for the following?

Year? Tearm? Year in School? Course Number? Course Clarification?

Thanks in Advance
-Jay

I have had the same problem as to what year/term or school I put them under...hopefully someone can answer our question

Hey,
So I know how to write the course name for APs, but I'm still not 100% sure what year/term to put them under. For the course names I would put:
AP Credit: Biology
AP Credit: History
AP Credit: English
AP Credit: Physics
That's how the AMCAS manual says to list them so that's what I'm doing.
Please help once you know what to do about the year/term 🙂

I had this as well.

I listed the year as the high school year I took it. That way it shows up as coming before my freshman year. I gave it the course number of the class that the credit was good for.

Actually, the AMCAS manual says to list the course names exactly as they appear on the transcript of the institution awarding the credit, only listing "AP Credit: Biology" if the school did not award you credit for a specific course. Further, you list the year in school for ALL AP courses as "Freshman". The specific semesters and terms should be on your application. If they aren't, put them whatever you like (preferably before your matriculation), and if AMCAS has a problem with it, they'll change it.

This is all in the Instruction Guide:

"If the transcript from the college awarding AP credit does not list actual course names, enter the subject area for which credit has been earned (e.g., AP Credit: English) as the course name." (Page 49)

"Assign Freshman (FR) status to Advanced Placement, Exempt, or CLEP credit awarded when you first entered college." (Page 43)

*sigh*
