AMCAS Application "Course Work" Question - Pls HELP!

Hey all. Well, I finally called AMCAS...during my lunch break at work. damn it took forever to get through. Anyhow, I talked to a nice sounding lady who told me to leave the course work section as is. Don't make it fit to look nice. Leave winter quarters, like 1998, even though they should look like they are in 1997. But, I agree with sandflea...they are so eager to get you off the phone. She didn't mention anything about computer programmers fixing it...she just said that the way it is, is the way they want it. Who knows...
Anyhow, wouldn't the course work order change the way the GPA is calculated for each year? I hope adcoms don't misinterpret any trends in GPA because of it.

Well, I think the way it stands now is that the majority of people have been told to leave it as is. I just want to get this thing done with and over as soon as possible. Well good luck all!!

i think the reason why it doesn't affect your gpa is because the application calculates your gpa based on the academic STATUS (freshman, etc) rather than the academic year. i calculated it myself by hand and it came out the same as the application's calculations. plus, since winter quarter of my senior year of college shows up on the app as taking place in the academic year AFTER i graduated (?!), if the gpa was calculated based on academic year, i would have five yearly college gpa's, as there are five academic years that show up on my app due to the glitch, instead of only four.

too bad the glitch didn't somehow raise my gpa. 😀
