On the AMCAS it asks for
Course Number:
*Course Name:
*Course Classification:

Now if my transcript says Physics 8A: Intro Physics,

Would I enter:

Course Number: PHYS 8A (PHYSICS 8A, doesn't fit)
*Course Name: Intro Physics
*Course Classification: Physics

or

Course Number: 8A
*Course Name: Intro Physics
*Course Classification: Physics

Thanks!

they say that the course u enter shud be exactly how it appears on the transcript.

So Physics8A:Intro Physics should be written as Physics

you could put 8A as the course number

I have been doing what you listed as the second option.

I think it's just 8A. It says just the number.

Yeah, I'm assuming you're from one of the UCs (probably Berkeley). For course number, you just stick in 8A or 8B or whatever, just like Apparition said. Good luck.

Okay thanks, sounds good, but we have to write and Lab at the end of the course names right?

So I'd have to abbreviate to PHYSICS 8A INTRO PHYS and Lab

does that sound okay?

I had the same problem. I just did "Physic6A" since that fit. I don't think it will matter too much. It said to do a logical abbreviation if it doesn't fit.

Here is what I found;
"Q5 What is the COURSE NUMBER?
A A course number includes both the department abbreviation and course number. For example,BIOL013 or ENGL007."
and here is the web-site I found it from;
