Hi all - my uni sends transcripts with the confusing "credit unit" instead of credit hour, where 1 credit unit = 4 credit hour. This is explicitly stated on the transcript, but amcas took all of my 4 credit hour classes and changed them to 1.0 credit hours. This really messes up the GPA weighting and makes me think schools won't think I took full semesters in college (like, none of my undergrad would be considered full time - how does amcas think I got a degree?) The re-calculation actually works slightly in my favor, but this can't be what medical schools are expecting can it? I'm afraid I'll get screened out of programs for not completing pre-reqs! The downgrade happened last year, and after emailing amcas they claimed it had to reflect the transcript. I didn't get in anywhere and am re-applying - I've already submitted again with the error and only am now freaking out because a friend reviewed my app and brought this up.

1) Is this downgrade correct from amcas and will it cause problems for med schools reviewing my transcript?
2) Should I fight to change it after verified (considering I'm already pretty late, submitted ~2 weeks ago) and take the hit in delay time?
3) AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!
4) Thank you, any other advice is appreciated.

Also, I did some searching on the forum but did not find something similar, please feel free to bash if there is a thread on this already.

You're fine, lots of schools got by units instead of hours. Stanford, Northwestern, Penn, etc just off the very top of my head.

That's a relief, thank you. Do you know how they will do the weighting for GPA calculation?
