On the AMCAS Post-secondary Experiences Contact Name/Contact Title, we're asked to provide a name "who can verify that the experience occurred."

Do schools call these individuals to ask for information other than experience verification? More specifically, does anyone know whether med schools seek to take advice from these people?

Thanks.

They very rarely call. The only school I heard called some contacts was U Vermont. If they do call, it's probably just to verify that you completed that experience.

But that's weird, I heard you didn't have to provide contact info on the 2003 application....I guess you do.

I've had bad experience with one of the events. I'm wondering whether to mention the fairly-significant leadership position I've been holding or to entirely disregard the experience. Either way it's not favorable unless schools don't or rarely seek for recommendations from those contact names.

What about student organizations without a faculty advisor? It's a registered organization at my school...who do I put for the contact? The Dean's office through which the organization is registered? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />
