So I submitted n my AMCAS in late june. While I was doing this I was taking a couple summer courses. Summer courses ended mid-August and I sent in my transcript to AMCAS. Today I get verified and I check and I have no grades next to my summer classes. I called and she told me that because it was a current/future class at the time of submission AMCAS will not update it, and I will have to contact EVERY school and update them one by one.

Is this really the only way for me to get my summer grades updated?

I believe so, yes. This is what students who are still taking classes during their application year will have to do once fall semester is over.

It's the price you pay for having not finished school by the time you apply, but then again most people are (or will be) in your situation so schools are very used to it. Just make sure to follow each school's rules about updates. Some give you an online place to upload additional documents and you don't want to seem lazy/uninformed/not following the rules by just sending things to their admissions office. For transcripts though you may have to request a copy to be sent directly to the school....not sure.

Ya you definitely cannot update it via AMCAS. They would then have to resubmit your app to all schools.

People that don't have their fall grades in have to wait to submit until AMCAS has their transcript. Most schools will give you a spot to put this on your secondaries though. If not, they probably don't care about a few summer courses. Most of the schools I applied to don't have info on my summer courses.
