"THE DR. HARVEY YAMAMOTO AWARD
LOS ANGELES, CA, November 08, 2010 - The American Optometric Society (AOS)
announced today an annual award in honor of Dr. Harvey Yamamoto. The monetary
award of $1000 will be given to a senior optometric student from a school or college
of optometry in the United States and its territories at the AOS Annual Meeting and
Continuing Education Seminar to be held in Tampa, Florida, April 1-3, 2011. According
to AOS President, Dr. Pam Miller, "What makes this award so different from others is
that all students from any college of Optometry will have the opportunity to receive the award. This is truly, a real national award, and we are honored that Dr. Yamamoto has allowed us to name it after him."
