How is this essential?
I was being sarcastic, but I can see this perhaps worrying interviewees. As an example, I bit my tongue pretty hard at my CCOM interview. I recognized that the way I would have pronounced it sounds like a the start of the large intestine 😀

Dude you need to go back to school.

CCOM is definitely See see oh em, but I think I've heard other schools use the "com/calm" pronunciation lol

I believe it's school specific. PCOM is pronounced P.C.O.M. but CUSOM is pronounced at "KUSOM"

^idk why you'd say that, I've been pronouncing everything "PEE-COM" "KEW-SOM" "NYE-COM" etc

Just because you've been pronouncing it that way doesn't mean it's the correct pronunciation

EVERY one of my faculty colleagues, and students, and myself, use the word "COM" (as in, Mr Sulu, you have the com").

People will sound out the letters before the "COM"...for example, K-COM, A-Z-COM, or T-COM, but we also say TUN-COM, or Nova-COM.

this makes sense. that's why i always believe DUCOM and AECOM are secretly DO schools 😉

If I earn billions of dollars, I'll make a med school called COM at-MEBRO.

Took me over 24 hours to get it.
