I have sent my application towards the end of September. I figured the verification process just takes a little while but after a couple months of my application status stating that it is "processing", I found out that providing my MCAT ID wasn't enough and that I needed to go in through the AAMC website and send it to the AACOMAS application. I just did this and now I am freaking out that I have completely screwed myself over. I wonder if this has completely shot me out or do I still have a chance? Has anyone had their application verified and sent around late November and still been accepted to medical school? Any insight would help! Thanks

It's late, but yeah that will kind of set you back. If you're lucky, that's all their waiting for and you'll be verified as soon as they get your scores. If not... waiting up to six weeks from here to get your secondaries is risky at best.

How long does it normally take for them to get my scores? And how long do you think it will take for schools to send secondaries once the application is received? Also, I know you may not know this, but do you think schools would send secondaries even if spots have filled up?

I doubt most schools have filled their class yet. I'm not sure on the scores timeline, as I took my MCAT way before I was ready to submit. Secondaries vary by school... some came pretty quick, others trickled in over a few weeks after that. I -just- got TouroNV's secondary on Friday.

Okay so what you are saying is that I'm not completely shot, I just need to make sure everything from this point on is expedited?

Yep. Move real quickly on writing your secondaries. Make sure your LORs are ready to go out. You want your secondaries to be considered complete ASAP.

Okay, do you know if there is anyway I can see the secondaries before I receive them so that I can start now?

Not sure I've heard anyone think of that before, or with the cojones to ask out loud. This guy might actually have a chance.

A lot of schools post it on their site. And yeah, it can be found on SDN.

Has most of the prompts for this year. I suggest u get started asap. Before u know it you will be swamped with secondaries!

Check that thread and get to pre writing man. Try to send those secondaries in around 24 hours after you get them. At this point you really have to be quick and efficient. Don't let your writing suffer because of this however.

Thank you. I'll specifically ask for your permission the next time I try to compliment someone.
